Under the motto ‘Echoes of the Belle Époque’ and with maestro Pablo González as chief conductor, the Orquesta Sinfónica y Coro RTVE opens its concert season 2021-2022 on October 7th. In September 2023, Christoph König will take over as chief conductor of the Orchestra, and before that, in November 2022, he will become artistic director of the OCRTVE.

Among other Spanish soloists, the OCRTVE will be joined by violist Sara Ferrández and accordionist Iñaki Alberdi, who, together with Asier Polo, will perform Jesús Torres’ ‘Doble Concierto’. Also participating in this programme will be the trumpet soloist of the RTVE Symphony Orchestra, Christian Ibáñez, for the Hummel concerto, and the organist Juan de la Rubia, for the ‘Symphony No. 3’ by Saint-Säens. The violinists will include Julian Rachlin and Svetlin Roussev, and the cello soloist, Javier Albarés, will bring back the Myaskovsky concerto that the pandemic forced to be postponed. Pianists Simon Trpceski and Noelia Rodiles will also perform.
