In a nod to that famous sonnet written by Quevedo: Once upon a time a man stuck to a nose… with Iñaki Alberdi it can be transformed into Once upon a time a man stuck to an accordion. Since he started studying this instrument at the age of 13, it has become his inseparable companion, as if it were a natural extension of his body, which breathes and vibrates with him. It accompanies him wherever he goes, and despite its nearly 16 kilos, he does not hesitate to take it wherever he needs to go for the photo shoot. The appointment with Iñaki Alberdi is in Pamplona, in Baluarte, where he has made a stop in his work schedule to give the chamber concert Piazzola Alberdi, accompanied by a classical guitar, a double bass and a violin, and which is part of a tour that began on 26 January 2020, but was paralysed by the covid.

The Pórtico do Paraíso festival gives the Ribeira Sacra a boost

The Xacobeo and the candidacy of the Ribeira Sacra to World Heritage go hand in hand in the fourteenth edition of the International Music Festival Pórtico do Paraíso, which will choose this cultural landscape that aspires to conquer the Unesco to celebrate concerts from 4 to 13 June. Juan Enrique Miguens, artistic director of the festival, presented the programme this Monday in the camatarán of Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil. He was accompanied by Manuel Baltar, president of the Diputación de Ourense; Conchi da Silva, coordinator of the festival; Jacobo Sutil, director of the Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais (Agadic); Gabriel Alén, delegate of the Xunta de Galicia in Ourense; and the mayors of the concellos of Nogueira de Ramuín, Esgos and Xunqueira de Espadanedo, César Parente, Mario Rodríguez and Carlos Gómez, respectively.

Iñaki Alberdi, artistical director of the first “Accordion Meeting Point”
Accordion Meeting Point springs from a desire to offer accordion students a meeting place that combines the different skills that can affect their future career. Performance, technical and musical aspects, familiarity with equipment and recording experience under the supervision of a music producer, guidance in proper music management and promotion, approaching different repertoires of traditional, classical, contemporary and improvised music are included, among other topics related to what today’s accordionists need to develop.
THE ACCORDION OF IÑAKI ALBERDI SOUNDS IN THE HOUSE OF NOBEL LAUREATE POET VICENTE ALEIXANDRE
Iñaki Alberdi played Guridi’s “Nostalgia” in which he was the home of the poet Vicente Aleixandre, Nobel Prize for Literature 1977, during his interview with the Radio Nacional of Spain program of Spain, El Ojo Crítico, broadcast from that meeting place of several generations of poets and today abandoned.
“CUEURS DESOLEZ” CD RELEASE IN CONCERT
Iñaki Alberdi and Carlos Mena release their CD “Cueurs Desolez” in a concert-presentation that will take place on Friday, May 31 at 12 noon. at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid.
Published by IBS Classical, the CD includes works by Josquin Des Prez, Bach, Jesús Torres, Gabriel Erkoreka, Joan Magramé and José María Sánchez-Verdú.
In the presentation, which will also include musicologist José Luis García del Busto and IBS Classical director Paco Moya, Iñaki Alberdi and Carlos Mena will perform the works “Mille regretz” by Josquin Des Prez and “Llama de amor vivo” by Jesús Torres.
The accordionists and countertenors are specific musicians who need to build their musical corpus in the present at the same time they investigate its relevance and possibilities with the repertoire of the past. “Cueurs Desolez” by accordionist Iñaki Alberdi and countertenor Carlos Mena, is a faithful testimony of that.

IÑAKI ALBERDI RETURNS TO MUSIKA MÚSICA FESTIVAL
Iñaki Alberdi will return to the Musika Música Festival performing on March 3rd, at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao, “Aconcagua” by Piazzolla, with the Camera Musicae Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tomàs Grau.

Iñaki Alberdi and Asier Polo premiered the work “Transfiguración” by Jesús Torres at the Auditorium Baluarte of Pamplona, on February 20th, in a concert in which they will also perform works by Bach, Gubaidulina, Piazzola and Mozart.
